You’ll have cooked for Thanksgiving, now let us cook for you! Join us for this very special Available Light event: A watch party-meets-dinner party featuring Babette’s Feast! Explore the transformative power of food and art through Gabriel Axel’s Academy Award-winning story about a mysterious French woman who arrives in an austere Danish village.  Based on a short story by Isak Dineson (pen name of Karen Blixen, author of Out of Africa), this sumptuous tale will whet your appetite, and we’ll answer with a delicious family-style meal prepared by home chef extraordinaire Michael Southard and nourishing conversation facilitated by Priya Sircar.

Priya Sircar is a multidisciplinary artist and administrator who strives to enrich the lives of all people through arts and culture. From 2021-2024, she served as the City of Charlotte’s first arts and culture officer. In 2024, she founded Road Openers, LLC, which connects people and ideas to collaborators, resources, and creative energy. Priya’s award-winning short film Murmuration has featured at festivals, screenings, and exhibitions internationally and nationally.
